I spent this independence weekend out at a fairly remote lake cabin with my magnificent family. While I usually stock up on a variety of reading materials my favorite creative fix came in the form of a movie. If you haven't already seen the movie It’s Complicated. I recommend it with two thumbs up, if not for the story line or characters then solely for the sake of the house decorating. I wanted to live in Meryl Streeps house. To take a bath in that amazing claw foot tub after swimming in her equally a-may-a-zing pool and then sit for desert at her incredible dining table. My husband even had to ogle over the front door. The link from Traditional Home magazines cover is http://www.traditionalhome.com/design_decorating/showhouses/set-design_ss5.html. Eye-candy with several photos of the Santa Barbara home. The production designer John Hutman and set director Beth Rubion styled the 1020's Spanish Style Ranch in a Belgian look with natural wood and textiles.
I’m a Native Gal from the Northwest who likes to express myself with all things unique and beautiful. I love laughing with my husband, spending time with my kiddos and learning a little about a LOT!
